Members’ Update (July 2020)

Dear Members,

As we bring you our latest U3A Members’ update – how our lives keep changing! We continue to do all we can to protect ourselves and stay safe and well under the varying restriction conditions. Our greetings and best wishes in these times.

U3A Moreland continues to offer support to help you stay connected through the fifteen Program choices we offer in Term 3 online via zoom.  Our other face-to-face and outdoor Programs are in recess owing to COVID-19 restrictions.  Our skilled Zoom Support Team has assisted more Members join in or offer their Programs on line as the weeks go by.  Don’t hesitate to enquire and we will get in touch, checking if your computer or other technology equipment is appropriate and providing training and assistance.

Moreland City Council also offers a wide range of resources and support for the period of the COVID-19 pandemic.  We recently forwarded their Community Support Newsletter containing all kinds of information including various links found through Be Kind Moreland. Check it out regularly on their website.

We appreciate some 50 Members participating in our AGM (Annual General Meeting) on line. This enabled us to conduct the important business to meet our obligations as an incorporated organisation and form our next Committee of Management. New Members have joined – Karen Greening (President), Ann Wookey (Treasurer) and Committee Member Janet MacRae. Continuing Members are John Lopatecki (Vice President), Gwen Rosengren (Secretary), Melinda Venticich, Pauline O’Brien and Jo Porter. Our outgoing Treasurer Jeanette Menzies continues for the present to assist our new Treasurer.  We acknowledge Jeanette’s valuable contribution as Treasurer over these past few years.  We still have vacancies to fill and are seeking a Member interested in taking on the role of Secretary.
Thanks once again to our Zoom Support Team for assisting with training sessions and the running of the meeting on line.
